Industrial production of maleic acid is under the catalysis of vanadium pentoxide, at 450 ~ 500℃ with air oxidation benzene, Mr. Maleic anhydride, the hydrolysis is obtained.
The Use of Maleic Acid in the Food Industry
Maleic acid is mainly used in the manufacture of unsaturated polyester resins and compounds such as tartaric acid, fumaric acid, succinic acid, DL-malic acid, dyeing auxiliaries and oil preservatives. It is also widely used in medicine, pesticide, food and other aspects.
Maleic acid has become a new sour agent in the food and beverage industry. Adding appropriate amount of maleic acid to food and beverage can enhance the special fruit flavor and improve the taste. It is used in dairy products, meat products, baked products, pasta products, seasoning foods, etc.
