The relationship between glyoxylic acid and glyoxylic acid monohydrate
Glyoxylic acid is the simplest alkyd acid with aldehyde and carboxylic acid functional groups, and its derivatives have reached dozens of species. Glyoxylic acid monohydrate, as a high-purity glyoxylic acid product, can be used as a raw material for medicines, automotive paint additives and raw materials for some fine chemical products.
Uses of glyoxylic acid monohydrate
Glyoxylic acid monohydrate has the properties of both aldehyde and acid, and can be used for the determination of protein in urine; it is also used for the synthesis of a high-efficiency dienophile sulfinyl maleic acid. Glyoxylic acid monohydrate is found naturally in unripe fruit and young green leaves, and also in very tender beets.
